Why Summer is the Best Time for Landscaping Projects

Jul 1, 2019 | Services

Many homeowners want to get that great backyard project going, but they don’t know when they should start. Maybe the bidding process has taken longer than they thought, or the couldn’t agree with a spouse on which companies to engage. Or maybe the company they want is booked until a later date. Is it OK to start up a new project in summer instead of spring, like you’d planned?

In our experience, summer is a great time to start your project! Most people shy away from it, because summer is supposed to be a relaxing time spent with friends and family. That’s true, but doing your landscaping project in the summer has many advantages, and when you do it with Johnson’s, there’s no stress.

Skip the Trouble

The first advantage to doing your landscaping in the summer is that we can work on it while you are on vacation. Once you complete the first three steps with us (meet, plan, and discuss), we can install your dream outdoor space while you’re on vacation. Imagine – you leave for vacation, relax, spend time with the kids, and when the taxi drops you back to your house, your landscaping is done, exactly how you want it. The front of your house is blooming with flowers, your new deck looks great, and the new tree seems to be thriving!

Warranty No Matter When

A second advantage is that our one-year warranty is in effect whether you do your landscaping in the Spring or in the Summer. That means that the warranty will take you through the Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. The warranty includes one free plant replacement for any plant that fails to survive for at least one year after planting (more details regarding the warranty available online).

Time to Grow

The third advantage is that by doing your landscaping in the summer, your plants will be more established and thus more likely to survive the cold winter months. If you do your landscaping in the Fall, your plants will have significantly less time to settle into the soil, which means the roots are more exposed, and the plant is more likely to die. By providing the extra couple months of growth, your plants will be given the opportunity to dig their roots deep into the ground and live longer.

Higher Availability

A fourth advantage is that our schedule is lighter in the summer, so we will have more availability in terms of meeting with you and the installation. We’re more likely to be able to adjust our schedule to meet your needs, and we’re more likely to get through our 5-Step Process faster in the summer.

For generations, Johnson’s Landscaping Service has provided quality landscaping for homes, so we bring knowledge, experience, and a trained eye.  With our 5 Step Process, we can work with you to make your dream outdoor space! First, we will meet with you so we can understand what your vision is. Based on that vision, we’ll give you our custom proposal, which we will then discuss with you in order to perfect it. After we finalize the plan, our experienced crews will install the project. Finally, we will provide you with a customized maintenance plan so you can enjoy your dream outdoor space for as long as possible!
